Caramel Nut is a Robusta that doesn't ask for an apology — it leads with chocolate and caramel, thick and warm, backed by roasted nuts and a fruity undertone that keeps it from ever feeling one-note. A hit of bitterness on the finish is deliberate, not a flaw — it's what gives the cup its backbone and stops all that caramel sweetness from tipping into dessert territory. This is a coffee built for body and depth, not delicacy. It comes from the Moganad estate, grown at 1,250 metres above sea level, and processed using an extended natural fermentation method — the cherries are dried whole with careful, prolonged fermentation control, a slower and more deliberate process than a standard natural dry. That extended fermentation is where the deep caramel and fruit-forward sweetness comes from; it gives the bean far more time to develop complexity than a quicker process would allow. The varietal is C×R, with a creamy, smooth body — the kind of texture that carries milk exceptionally well without disappearing underneath it, which is exactly why this lot earns its place in our espresso and moka pot recommendations. Where our Arabica lots tend to reward a lighter hand, this one wants heat, pressure, and a shot glass. Sourced directly from Moganad, cupped and scored above 80 before it reaches your cup, and roasted in small batches like everything else in the Five Roam lineup — Robusta included, because "specialty" isn't a claim we reserve for Arabica alone.
